Disinfo Academy explores emerging fact-checking practices and attempts to improve the current fact-checking algorithms. The project also incorporates innovative cognitive insights into the inner workings of disinformation and pays special attention to common disinformation narratives and the cognitive triggers they employ. Ultimately, a new online course on disinformation and fact-checking will be available to HE students, journalists and fact-checkers.
Using cognitive science, we developed an education-oriented framework for disinformation to help teachers and educators lead the way and raise awareness and understanding of the processes involved in misinformation and disinformation. Contains a new framework, practical tools and a wealth of case studies and other resources to use in class and beyond.
