Collaborative Training in the Disinfo Academy Initiative

On 10 and 11 September 2024, the first part of the Disinfo Academy training took place in Sarajevo.

Highlights of the training:

  • Understanding the new updated fact-checking methodology;
  • Familiarization with the experimental system for graphically indicating the type of misinformation and manipulation.

The second part of the training will take place in October 2024 in an online format.

The partners also took the opportunity to discuss the upcoming tasks for the implementation of Work Package 4. The team discussed its progress in developing and piloting the online training course on fact-checking and debunking misinformation, solution for presenting and publishing the project methodology online and completing the Experimental Graphical Notation System (indicating the nature of disinformation and manipulation using a set of graphical labels xGRANS).

A collection of categorized and explained available digital fact-checking tools is also provided as a supplement to the course. The collection will facilitate the work of current or future fact-checkers and journalists, students and the general public who need to independently verify information.

The partnership is led by NTCenter and includes Sofia University, Koc University in Istanbul, Eurocomunicare in Bucharest and the University of Sarajevo.
